Yesterday was Christmas and as many of you noticed I didn’t write a blog yesterday.  Christmas is a day that I close my stores and although I have people that want to work I don’t let them on Christmas, or Thanksgiving. These days are meant to be a day off.

There are many people that have to work on Christmas, Firefighters, Police, the medical staff of all types, military and many others. There are some that switch shifts to allow others the time off, I have seen this many times with older workers that want to allow a young family the time together.

I spent the day with my family doing a lot of nothing. We woke up early and opened presents and then had breakfast. The rest of the day was spent with the fireplace channel on TV, cooking food, eating and watching some TV. The kids were on various electronic devices playing games or “talking” to friends and We walked around the block with the dogs and talked to family in other areas on the phone.

Overall just a nice, quiet relaxing day.

Today is another story. We are doing some bathroom renovations replacing a shower.

I hope your Christmas was great and spend some time over the next week reflecting on 2013 and deciding how you will make 2014 a year to remember.
