The 7 Things Successful People Never Say

Recently I read an article on LinkedIn about the “The 7 Things Successful People Never Say”, of course, it is referring to things not to say around the office, but the same applies to what you tell yourself in your own business.

But there are more benefits when you have your own business.

1. “That’s not in my job description.”

What job description? You can write one if you want but why bother.

2. “It can’t be done.

          Yes, it can.

3. “It’s not my fault.”

An issue is not anybody’s “fault” when you have your own business. If there is a problem you recognize it, learn from it and move on. And use the experience to help others.

4. “This will just take a minute.”

The intention from the article with this one is to not overpromise and under deliver. But many items do just take a minute. I can shoot a video with a quick tip and upload it to YouTube in less than a minute.

5. “I don’t need any help.”

Help and support are two different things. Working with a great team provides the support you need to learn and improve.

6. “It’s not fair.”

This was actually discussed in another article I wrote about.  Also, accept the fact that business life is actually fair (despite the frequent bemoaning of others that you have heard to the contrary) because it’s unfair to everyone. That, logically, makes it fair.”

7. “This is the way it’s always been done.”

One of the comments below the main article sums this up  “Just because you’ve always done it this way, doesn’t mean it’s not stupid”.

Be different, Be dynamic that’s why you don’t want to work in an Office with people who use these terms anyway.
