I was doing some work on a Dexter Dryer so while I had it apart I wanted to show you some of the key parts that are behind the pulleys.

Normally you can’t see into this area.

The Air Flow Confirmation Switch is a key component to the dryer operation. When the fan starts running it creates a negative pressure inside the drum and pulls in a lightweight flap connected to a small switch. This confirms that the fan is running and the belts are OK. It is one of the checks in place before the burner ignites.

Every dryer will have one of these switches but the exact location and design may vary between Manufacturers.

One other component shown in the video is the belt tension setup and the spring location.
